God's Conquest: The Mission to Survive

"Before You Breathed — He Already Planned It"

What Is This Series About?

Every living thing is wired for survival — and it wasn't an accident. God's Conquest: The Mission to Survive is a ministry series that looks at the living world around us and asks a deeper question than science alone can answer:

What if the drive to survive was not born in evolution, but ordained in eternity?

Across this series, we explore how God — sovereign, intentional, and eternal — embedded a survival mandate inside every class of His creation: human, animal, and plant. Not as a biological accident, not as a lucky mutation — but as a testimony to His glory and an instrument of His cosmic plan.

The series draws intentionally from two streams of canonical Scripture: the sixty-six books of the NIV Protestant canon, and the wider Ethiopian Orthodox canon — texts long treasured by the oldest continuous Christian church on earth, preserved in full for millennia precisely because they carry something Western condensation left on the cutting room floor.

This is a theologically serious series. It is also a spiritually accessible one — written for believers who are hungry for something deeper than a Sunday sound bite, and brave enough to let the whole of God's Word speak to their whole life.

Primary Canon — NIV

Genesis, Psalms, Job, Romans, John, Colossians

The foundation of our study — the survival mandate in Genesis 1:26–28, Christ's sustaining power in Colossians 1:16–17, and creation's groan in Romans 8:19–22.

Ethiopian Orthodox Canon — Deuterocanonical

1 Enoch, Book of Jubilees, Wisdom of Solomon

Ancient texts preserved by the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church — cited by the early Church Fathers and the New Testament epistle of Jude. They open windows into creation's story that Western theology has largely forgotten.

Core Thesis

The Survival Mandate

God created all things that they might exist (Wisdom of Solomon 1:13–14). Every cell that fights to replicate, every root that pushes through stone, every person who rises after devastation — all are obeying the first and most ancient word of the Creator: continue.

Every living thing is wired for survival — and it wasn't an accident. Part 1 explores the survival mandate across all three kingdoms of creation: humanity (Imago Dei), the animal kingdom (instinctive obedience), and the plant kingdom (resurrection in slow motion).

Part 2 turns toward the darkness — and names it. We explore why the adversary's primary and most ancient tactic is always elimination, how he has deployed that strategy against all of creation since the Fall — and how God's people are called to rise in counter-mission with resurrection power.

What to Expect in This Series

Each post in God's Conquest is written to stir the mind and strengthen the spirit. Here's what's at the heart of this work.

Deep Scripture Study

Not a devotional platitude — a serious engagement with God's Word from Genesis through the prophetic literature, including texts preserved in the Ethiopian Orthodox canon that most Western congregations have never heard preached.

🌏

Creation as Teacher

The natural world is not random — it is a theology classroom. The seed splitting stone, the raven crying to God for food, the stump budding at the scent of water — all are preachers. This series takes their testimony seriously.

Hope for the Weary

There is someone reading Part 1 who has been through a war — against their peace, their family, their body, their faith. This series is written to tell them: that survival instinct is not stubbornness. It is the voice of God in your bones.
