Dear Community,
How do you react when real life doesn't go your way? When an interaction leaves you feeling defensive, angry, or deeply anxious?
In our latest series, Living Testimony News, we are diving deep into how we socially deal with reality without letting our thoughts race out of control. We look at the exact moment where human temptation tries to steer our tongues toward anger, and how we can steer ourselves back toward peace.
Here's the anatomy of the crisis. When reality hits hard — a sharp word, a betrayal, a moment of disrespect — your mind races. Your thoughts say "Defend yourself. Correct the record. Strike back." And in that moment, anxiety gives you a foothold.
Ephesians 4:26-27 says it plainly: "Don't sin by letting anger control you. Don't let the sun go down while you are still angry, for anger gives a foothold to the devil."
That foothold is the anxiety that grows when we treat a temporary situation as a permanent reality. The two-sided wall appears right here. One side is the human reaction — match anger with anger, let bitterness settle. The other side is the spiritual call — pause, listen first, respond with peace.
Patience is not weakness. It is the delay where your victory lives.
Overcoming these moments requires us to dissect our circumstances with clear-eyed common sense. We must separate the truth of who we are from the lies that internal anxiety tells us.
The lie tells you that you are rejected, vulnerable, and forced to retaliate.
The truth says you are anchored in Christ, secure in your identity, and capable of displaying grace even when it is not returned.
Common sense dictates this: if you answer an explosive situation with more fire, everything burns. If you counter it with a patient, measured response — you disarm the conflict before it escalates.
Forgiveness is not about letting someone off the hook. It is about tearing down your side of the wall so that anger cannot trap you inside your own mind.
Let's stop fighting unnecessary internal wars.
